David Wilson Partnership were appointed by The Parish Council to work up designs for a new recreation ground with associated facilities such as BMX Track, small pavilion, reinforced grass surfacing, parking spaces, drainage swale and surface water attenuation provision.

The Parish Council intend to carry out the works in phases, each dependant on available funding. The first phase will be layout of the sports pitches and relocation of the pavilion from the existing, sub standard, cricket field to the west. The second phase will be the layout of the car park. The detail of further elements (play area, hard surfaced courts, BMX track, soft landscape and site circulation) are dependant on future funding whose extent is not yet known.

David Wilson Partnership also undertook planning application services for the proposed works which included change of use of the site and detailed consent for the pitch layouts, relocation of an existing cricket pavilion and proposed car parking facilities. Extensive planning consultation was also undertaken as part of the pre application process to ensure key stakeholder engagement.
