Swimbridge is a medium sized village in North Devon. Although surrounded by beautiful countryside, the local community have little access to recreation or play space and the nearest sports facilities are several miles away, only accessible by car.

The parish council negotiated the gift of a large, fairly flat field as part of a planning agreement for new housing. David Wilson Partnership were commissioned to work with the parish council and local groups to develop outline proposals for new play space, sports facilities and changing rooms in the field.

The proposals have obtained planning consent, allowing the village to apply for funding to develop the new park.
